In our minds, we can elevate our awareness.
In our spirits, we can increase our vibrancy.
In our bodies, we can push ourselves to new heights.
In our communities, we can uplift one another.
Hello, I'm Alison
I teach yoga...the sweaty, upbeat, power kind.
The kind that makes you question your life choices as your muscles quiver.
The kind that, when you’re done, makes you feel like you just climbed a mountain hand-in-hand with your best friend...on your birthday.
I’ve spent the last decade teaching yoga - studio classes, private clients, corporate classes, kids yoga, prison yoga and now online yoga. Whether in-person or virtually, my goal as your yoga teacher is to nurture connection, to challenge you on and off the mat, and to gently remind you to lead from the heart. Your accomplishments are my rewards.
My Journey
—
I began yoga while in graduate school in an attempt to try a new fitness regime. My body became stronger, but to my own surprise, I found myself hooked on more than just the physical practice. Almost a decade later, I was a TV journalist and a mother, but what kept me grounded was my avid yoga practice. That’s when I realized my calling - to share the inspirational and transformative practice of yoga and mindful movement with others. So I traded in my reporter’s notepad for a yoga mat.
At my core, I’m a nerd. I continue to study with wellness and fitness professionals. I devour texts and videos on biomechanics. My classes are sequenced to combine creativity with functional movement. You can expect to work hard, learn a lot, and have fun along the way.
